Welcome!

The Youth GrantMakers Council (YGMC) is a youth organization focused on improving the community by providing grants for youth-led projects.

Our Achievements In The 2008-2009 School Year:

- Made numerous presentations to youth groups, school clubs, scout troops, 4-H clubs, and other youth organizations to make them aware of grant opportunities available through YGMC

- Received twenty-one grant applications requesting more than $28,000 in funding during our two grant cycles

- Granted $7,947 to eleven youth-led projects

- Raised nearly $800 toward a challenge grant from one of our Funding Partners that will allow us to have more money to give to worthy grant applicants in our next grant cycle

- Named Joey Platt, a sophomore at Southeast of Saline, the 2009 Youth Citizenship Award recipient at the Greater Salina Community Foundation's Annual Luncheon in May

- Received twenty-six applicants for the 2009-2010 Council, the largest number of membership applications we have ever received!

- Selected ten new members to join our council for the 2009-2010 school year including Miranda Basinger, Damion Cooper, Megan Haugh, Kate Martens, Kylie Metzger, Jordan Pieschl, William Putzier, William Reid, Tyler Walker, and Alyse Weishaar

- Said good-bye and recognized seven senior members at our Appreciation Reception, including our first four-year member, Adam Weishaar.
