Spring Grant Applications Available - Due March 1st

YGMC is once again accepting grant applications for their spring grant cycle. We are hoping to receive a large number of requests because we still have about $6,000 of our original $13,000 in grant monies available. In order to receive a YGMC grant, requests must be written by youth no older than eighteen and the project location must be within Saline County. Applications must be completed in full and postmarked by March 1st to be considered. To apply for a grant, please visit our Forms page.

Nominate an Outstanding Youth in Saline County- Due March 1st!

Each year, YGMC honors one youth from Saline County with our Youth Citizenship Award. The award is given to an individual who has made a significant voluntary contribution(s) to the welfare or betterment of the community. Our award is unique because only youth, age 18 or younger, may be nominated for the award! However, any person in the community may nominate a youth for this award. The winner will be recognized and announced to the community at the Greater Salina Community Foundation's Community Luncheon at the Salina Country Club on May 15th. YGMC will award the winner with a plaque and $100 as a thank-you for his or her outstanding contribution to our community. Nominations are to be postmarked by March 1st to be considered. If you know a youth who deserves this award, please complete a nomination form, which can be found on our Forms page.

Become a Member of YGMC!

What is philanthropy? How can youth make a difference in the community? Do you know the answers to these questions or would you like to know more? Now is the time to consider becoming a member of YGMC because it provides youth the opportunity to learn about philanthropy and to become active leaders in the community. YGMC also offers youth the experience of deciding how grant dollars are spent!

In order to apply for membership, applicants must be a resident of Saline County, be a high school student in the 2011-2012 school year, be interested in helping youth and the community, and have a desire to learn about leadership, grant making, and group consensus. Applications are to be postmarked by April 4th. After applications are received, all applicants WILL be interviewed by current YGMC members. If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing, please complete an application, which can be found on our Forms page.
